FAQ

Questions about getting started, booking or your first visit? Here are the most important answers. If your question isn’t here, just send us an email or a WhatsApp message – we’re happy to help.

Getting started & trial class

Do I need experience, strength or flexibility?

No, luckily not! You don’t need to do pull-ups or bend like a pretzel – anyone can learn pole. Strength and flexibility come naturally with training. But we won’t pretend otherwise: at first the pole hurts quite a bit, and a few bruises – lovingly called «pole kisses» – are simply part of it. Don’t worry, your skin gets used to it quickly. So you only need to bring two things: a good dose of curiosity and a little pain tolerance.

How can I try pole with you?

The easiest way is our Pole Starter Pass: 4 classes in the Pole Beginner class for CHF 109, to use flexibly over 6 weeks. You can also join any of our classes for a single trial class at CHF 25 – book your trial class on Eversports here.

What does a class look like?

Every class starts with a warm-up, followed by conditioning for strength and stability. Then it’s time for pole technique, where we work on tricks and combos on the static and spinning pole. We finish with a gentle stretch in the cool-down.

How big are the groups?

We teach in small groups so our instructors can give you personal attention and corrections. The studio has 11 poles, each 4 m high.

From what age can I join?

Our classes are open from age 16. For minors we need written consent from a parent or legal guardian. For younger students we offer our Kids & Teens classes (German page).

What happens after the Starter Pass?

If you enjoy it, you get CHF 30 off your first membership when you switch to a Beginner membership.

Booking & prices

How do I book a class?

You book all classes, courses and workshops online via Eversports – in your browser or in the Eversports app. Your booking is personal and non-transferable.

How much does it cost?

You’ll find all current prices for single classes, class passes and memberships on Eversports. The Pole Starter Pass costs CHF 109 for 4 classes, and a trial class in any class costs CHF 25. All prices are in CHF.

Is there a discount for students and apprentices?

Yes! Students and apprentices under 28 get 20% off all memberships. Just email a copy of your valid student or apprentice ID to info@aerial52.ch before booking, and we’ll set up the discount for you.

Will my health insurance contribute?

Quite possibly! Aerial 52 is a member of the TanzVereinigung Schweiz (TVS), so several Swiss health insurers contribute to the cost of your membership through their supplementary insurance. Simply submit your invoice to your insurer. How much you get back depends on your insurer and plan – it’s best to ask them directly.

I can’t make it after all – what now?

No problem, it happens. Cancel your booking on Eversports at least 10 hours before the class starts and you can make up the class (if spots are available). For later cancellations or no-shows, the class is forfeited.

How do workshops work?

Your workshop spot is reserved for you once we receive your payment. You can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before the start. After that the full amount is due, unless your spot can be filled by someone else. If a workshop doesn’t take place (e.g. too few sign-ups), you’ll receive a credit or, if you prefer, a refund.

How do I cancel my membership?

Memberships renew automatically unless you cancel in writing at least 4 weeks before they expire (by email, post or via Eversports). Single classes and class passes simply expire. You’ll find all the details in our terms and conditions (German).

Can I pause my membership?

If you can’t train for a longer period, e.g. due to illness, accident, pregnancy or military service, you can request a pause with proof. You can also request one pause of up to one month per calendar year (processing fee CHF 25). The pause is added to the end of your membership.

At the studio & what to wear

What should I wear to pole class?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in – there’s no dress code. For pole we recommend a top and shorts, because your skin grips the pole better than fabric. How much skin you show is entirely up to you. In most classes you train barefoot, in Pole Heels of course in heels. For Aerial Hoop and Flying Pole we recommend long trousers to protect your legs. For Beautiful Lines please bring socks. For Stretching, comfortable sportswear is all you need.

Anything else I should know?

Please don’t use body lotion or oil on the day of training – ideally not the evening before either – or you’ll slide off the pole. It’s best to take off jewellery such as rings and bracelets before class. A water bottle and a small towel are handy.

Do I need my own equipment?

No, we have everything you need at the studio.

When should I arrive for my first visit?

Ideally 10 minutes before the start, so we can quickly show you around. Changing rooms and showers are available.

Where are you?

Our studio is right in the heart of Glattpark: Boulevard Lilienthal 37, 8152 Opfikon.

How do I get there – is there parking?

By public transport it’s quick: the bus stop «Chavez-Allee» is right in front of the studio. If you come by car, free parking is available in the underground garage. Just send us an email or WhatsApp before your first visit and we’ll explain how to find the entrance.

What if I have an injury or health issues?

Please let your instructor know before class so she can adapt the exercises for you. You train at your own risk – we recommend private accident and liability insurance.
